Greco di Tufo is a DOCG wine whose production is allowed in eight municipalities in the province of Avellino.
The vine was brought in the province of Avellino, in the area of the municipality of Tuff by the Pelasgians of Thessaly (Northern Greece), in the first century BC “truly Greek wine was so valuable, that at banquets was paid only once” (Pliny the elder)
